Privacy Policy: Statements and Co-signing

Last updated: 6 November 2026

Top End Pride publishes public statements and invites people and businesses to co-sign them. This policy explains what we collect when you co-sign, what the public can see, and how you can withdraw.

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

If you co-sign as a person:

If you co-sign for a business:

We do not store your IP address. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block automated spam. Turnstile checks your browser when you submit the form and does not use advertising cookies.

Co-signing is a public act

Co-signing a statement shows public support for it. For some people, being linked to a statement from an LGBTQIA+ organisation is sensitive. You control how visible you are.

When you co-sign as a person, you choose one of these:

Your suburb is shown only if you tick the box to show it.

A business can choose to be listed with its name, logo and website link, or to be counted without being named.

We never publish your email address. We never publish the name or role of the person who signed for a business.

By co-signing, you consent to us collecting this information and displaying it in the way you chose.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

We may present the number of co-signers, and the public list of co-signers, to government, media and other organisations in support of the statement. We do not give them your email address or any detail you chose to hide.

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for advertising.

Who can see your information

The public can see only what you chose to show.

Your full details can be seen by a small number of Top End Pride committee members and administrators who review co-signs. Every approval, rejection, removal and export is recorded against the person who did it.

Our website administrator, Web Blend, maintains the system for us and can access it for that purpose.

Where your information is stored

The system runs on Cloudflare. We ask Cloudflare to store the database and uploaded logos in its Oceania region. Cloudflare may process information in other countries when it delivers pages.

Our emails are sent through Resend, an email delivery service. Resend receives your email address and the content of the email in order to deliver it, and may process them in other countries.

Access to the administration area requires a verified login and is limited to named people.

How long we keep it

Withdrawing your co-sign

You can withdraw at any time. Open the statement, choose “Withdraw my co-sign” and enter the email address you signed with. We will email you a link. When you confirm, we remove your co-sign from the statement and the totals, and we erase your personal details.

Access and correction

You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct it. Email us at the address below.

Questions and complaints

Email secretary@topendpride.com.au with any question or complaint about your privacy. We will reply within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
